Patna, Nov 13: On the eve of the Bihar Assembly election results, Union Minister Giriraj Singh voiced strong optimism that the NDA will secure a historic victory, surpassing even its 2010 performance.

Speaking to reporters ahead of vote counting scheduled for November 14 at 8 a.m., Singh said, “We won 206 seats in 2010, and this time we will win even more.” He credited the alliance’s expected success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying voters had chosen “development, stability, and governance over chaos and misrule.”

In the 2010 Assembly polls, the JDU-BJP alliance had swept Bihar, winning 206 of 243 seats, with JDU bagging 115 and BJP 91. For the current election, both parties contested 101 seats each, with the remaining going to other NDA allies.

Singh said he was confident that the NDA would once again form the government with a “record-breaking mandate.”

Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Neha Sharma, daughter of Bhagalpur Congress MLA Ajit Sharma, dismissed the exit polls predicting an NDA victory. “I have no faith in exit polls. Just wait until tomorrow — the real picture will be clear then,” she told reporters in Bhagalpur.

Expressing satisfaction over the high voter turnout and active participation of women, Neha said that increasing awareness about voting rights in Bihar was “a positive and encouraging sign.”

The actress, who returned from Mumbai to campaign for her father, joined him in several roadshows and urged voters to support him, saying the people of Bihar “now understand the power of their vote.”
