Bijnor, Nov 9: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father under the influence of alcohol in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, police said on Sunday.
According to officials, the shocking incident came to light when the child’s mother lodged a written complaint with the police on Saturday evening. The minor, who sustained serious injuries, has been admitted to the district hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
Additional Superintendent of Police Krishna Gopal Singh said an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the law. “Efforts are being made to trace and arrest the accused, who is currently absconding,” he stated.
Police have formed special teams to locate the accused and are investigating the matter further.
