Over the years, Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek have often been spotted wearing two — sometimes even three — watches at once, sparking curiosity and admiration among fans.

This practice, however, is not a fashion statement or a red-carpet experiment. It’s a heartfelt family tradition rooted in emotion and nostalgia.

As Abhishek once shared in an interview, the story goes back to his childhood — to a time when his mother, Jaya Bachchan, found a tender way to stay connected despite distance. Whenever Amitabh Bachchan travelled abroad for shoots, Jaya would wear an extra watch set to the time zone of his location, a small but powerful reminder of their bond.

Years later, Abhishek continued the gesture, wearing multiple watches when his loved ones were away in different parts of the world. For the Bachchans, this habit became more than a quirk — it symbolised love that transcends distance and time.
