Jalna, Nov 8: Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday launched a fierce attack on the Maharashtra government, calling chief minister Devendra Fadnavis an “accidental CM” and branding the ruling BJP as a “Corrupt Janata Party.”
Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of his four-day visit to rain- and flood-hit Marathwada, Thackeray condemned the BJP for celebrating the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram,’ accusing the party of “robbing Mother India” and having no moral right to claim patriotism.
He also targeted deputy chief minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, mocking his advice that farmers should routinely repay loans instead of seeking waivers. “Except his son, Ajit Pawar does not want anyone to get anything free,” Thackeray said, referencing controversies involving Pawar’s son Parth Pawar and prime Pune land deals.

Thackeray accused the MahaYuti government of exploiting both votes and land, saying, “We are able to eat because farmers toil hard, yet this government stole parties, then votes, and now lands.” He further criticized Fadnavis for giving clean chits to officials embroiled in scandals, dubbing him a “clean cheater,” and cited a string of disputed land transactions, including those involving Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.
Calling on farmers to protest, Thackeray warned, “If the spark in your heart goes out, this government will burn down.” He demanded the immediate implementation of a farm loan waiver, rejecting the state’s Rs 31,628 crore relief package as insufficient and challenging the government’s claims that aid had been credited to farmers.
