Beltangady: DC Darshan H V visits govt school in Kuthlur, interacts with students

Beltangady, Nov 8: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner (DC) Darshan H V emphasized that providing quality education and healthcare to children is the shared responsibility of the government and society.

The DC was speaking during his visit to the government higher primary school, Kuthlur, in Beltangady taluk on Friday. He interacted with the students and offered them valuable advice.

Upon his arrival, the students welcomed the DC in a traditional manner with aarti and a colourful procession.

During the visit, he inaugurated a purified drinking water unit constructed at a cost of Rs 3.5 lac under the BASF CSR fund, and also planted saplings in the school premises.

Later, he visited the classrooms, interacted with the young students, and shared motivational words. Introducing himself humorously as 'the officer who declares holidays when it rains', he praised the school for its serene and beautiful environment nestled amidst nature.

He appreciated the school’s discipline, peaceful atmosphere, playground, flower garden, cleanliness, dedicated teaching staff, and supportive local community, calling the students 'fortunate' to study there.

He also reminisced about his own primary education days in the rural areas of Chikkamagaluru, recalling the challenges faced then.

The DC advised students to always respect their parents and teachers, who nurture them to become cultured and responsible citizens. He encouraged them to pursue higher education, aim for excellence, and grow into ideal citizens contributing to society.

Beltangady tahsildar Prithvisanikam, BASF site engineer Srinivas Pranesh, HR officer Santosh Pai, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association president Srinivas Nayak Indaje, vice president Bhaskar Rai Katta, treasurer Pushparaj B N, Naravi GP members Shivkumar, Santosh Pai, Sitaram, PDO Sudhakar, SDMC president Kanakavarma Jain, Headmistress Flovia D’Souza, and teaching staff were present on the occasion.
