Bhagalpur, Nov 7: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for calling Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin his “favourite CM,” alleging that the DMK had earlier insulted Biharis by comparing them to bidis.
“Someone asked Lalu’s son who his favourite CM is. He said Stalin. Do you know who he is? His party compares Biharis with bidis, insulting and disgracing them. Tejashwi’s favourite is this CM,” Shah said, addressing a rally in Bhagalpur.

The Home Minister also accused the DMK of opposing the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and “insulting Sanatan Dharma.”
Shah’s remarks came days after M.K. Stalin criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly claiming that DMK leaders had harassed workers from Bihar, urging the PM to avoid “cheap politics” against Tamils ahead of elections.
Continuing his attack, Shah accused the RJD-Congress alliance of lacking a development agenda for Bihar. “Lalu-Rahul-Rabri have done nothing for the poor, except protecting infiltrators who take away jobs, foodgrain, and other benefits meant for the needy,” he charged. Describing the Mahagathbandhan as a “thagbandhan,” Shah said it lacked both unity and direction.
Highlighting law and order concerns, the Home Minister claimed that during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Chief Minister, Maoists dominated districts such as Gaya, Aurangabad, and Jamui. “This was the time when Naxals hijacked the Dhanbad-Patna Express and killed three people. But now, due to PM Modi’s leadership, Bihar is Naxal-free,” Shah asserted.
He urged voters to support the NDA to prevent a return to “jungle raj.” “If you want development, vote for NDA; if you want the kidnapping industry back, vote for RJD,” he said, taking a dig at Lalu Yadav by claiming that the opposition would start a new department called ‘Apaharan’ (kidnapping) if elected.
Shah also criticised the Congress leadership, alleging that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi lacked the courage to respond to terror attacks during the UPA regime.
Promising a series of development initiatives, Shah announced that if the NDA retains power, Bihar would see projects including an electric vehicle manufacturing cluster, a defence corridor, new expressways, medical and engineering colleges, and a Rs 20,000 crore investment in pisciculture.
He also reaffirmed support for the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Goddess Sita in Bihar, urging people to choose between “development and disorder.”
