Mangaluru: Vibrant Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated at St Aloysius Gonzaga School

Mangaluru, Nov 3: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with vibrant cultural splendour and regional pride on November 1.

Chief guest Stany Bela, production director of Daijiworld TV, in his address, said, “We are fortunate to be born on this land. We must adapt to changing situations positively.” He commended the school for providing an excellent platform for students to showcase their individual talents and urged them to make the best use of it.

Principal Fr Rohan D Almeida SJ, who presided over the function, spoke about the greatness of the Kannada language and the significance of the yellow and red colours representing purity and sacredness. He also explained the meaning of the State Anthem and encouraged everyone to work together to make Karnataka a garden of peace.

The celebration began with a lively ‘Huli Vesha’ (Tiger Dance) performance, followed by a series of dance dramas, songs, and dances that reflected the cultural richness of Karnataka.

Dwithi H L of class IV spoke on the importance of the day. The programme was compered by Avani, Yashik, Samarth, and Eshanvi of class VII, with Avaneesh delivering the welcome address and Risha Kotyan proposing the vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by the Kannada language teachers.
