Udupi, Nov 3: 'Samskrithi Habba 2025', a grand cultural festival showcasing the rich art, literature, and heritage of Karnataka was held in St Mary’s English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi, on November 1 in celebration of 'Karnataka Rajyotsava'. The main objective of this cultural extravaganza was to instill a sense of pride and appreciation for the cultural values of our land in the young minds.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of renowned classical dance exponent Vidushi Veena M Samaga, who was the chief guest. A traditional procession welcomed the chief guest and dignitaries to the programme. The students’ choir set the tone for the event with a soulful rendition of Naadageethe followed by a warm welcome address by Amratha, Kannada teacher.

































The programme was uniquely inaugurated by unfurling the auspicious areca palm flower. Vidushi Veena Samaga was felicitated in recognition of her outstanding contributions to classical music and dance. Vinay, Kannada teacher, read out the certificate of felicitation.
In her guest speech, Vidushi Veena Samaga lauded the cultural diversity of Karnataka and admired the values of love, peace, and harmony that are intricately woven into the fabric of Kannada culture. The correspondent, Fr Charles Menezes, in his presidential address, emphasized the importance of connecting the young generation with our traditional values.
The cultural programme featured a diverse range of performances, including Yakshagana, Folk dance, Folk song, Light music, Instrumental music, and Tiger dance, showcasing the students' talents. Principal Fr Vijay Joyson D'Souza, vice principal Rita Quadros, head boy Snehal Hegde, and head girl Navya Shetty was present on the stage. Saanvi Kidiyoor and Hamsika of grade 9 anchored the program with poise, while Umashree, Kannada teacher, proposed the vote of thanks.
