Ladyhill celebrates 70th Kannada Rajyotsava with pride and passion

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The 70th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great joy and patriotic fervour at Ladyhill English Medium Higher Primary School (ICSE). The school campus was beautifully decorated in red and yellow, radiating pride and love for our motherland, Karnataka.

The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of Suchitra Shetty, M Ed and M A in Kannada and history, lecturer at Shree Gokarnanatheshwara B Ed College, who was the chief guest of the day. The other dignitaries present were principal Sr Jenifer Moras AC, vice principals Sr Jocelyn AC and Lavita Correa, and Paresh Narendra, PTA vice president.

The celebration commenced with the inauguration by the chief guest, followed by the soulful rendition of the State Anthem. A prayer service was then conducted by the students, invoking blessings for unity, peace, courage, health, and prosperity for all the people of Karnataka.

Students of grade 5A and 5B beautifully coordinated and presented the entire programme with confidence and grace. Their enthusiastic participation made the celebration lively and engaging.

The cultural programme began with a welcome dance, followed by a welcome speech and introduction of the chief guest. A skit on the Unification of Karnataka vividly depicted the struggles and achievements behind the formation of the state. The group song celebrating unity among Kannadigas filled the hall with pride and devotion. A humorous skit portraying a king and his citizens brought laughter and joy to the audience.

Students also presented brief talks on famous personalities of Karnataka highlighting their great contributions. They also honoured the efforts of farmers and soldiers, who form the backbone of our state.

The event concluded with a vibrant dance performance showcasing the rich culture, traditions, and diverse dance forms of Karnataka, which received loud applause from the audience.

In her address, the chief guest Suchitra Shetty encouraged the students to preserve and promote the Kannada language and culture, urging them to keep alive the spirit of being proud Kannadigas. She appreciated the sincere efforts of the teachers and students and congratulated them for their fluent use of Kannada throughout the event.

Principal, Sr Jenifer Moras AC, in her speech, emphasised the value and beauty of the Kannada language and extended her warm wishes to all on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration.

The Kannada Rajyotsava celebration at Ladyhill was a vibrant and memorable event, filled with devotion, cultural pride, and unity truly reflecting the spirit of Karnataka.
