New Delhi, Oct 26: Sunil Sardhania, the alleged mastermind behind the attack on singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria, has been deported to India from Zurich, Switzerland, officials confirmed. Sources said Sardhania was initially traced in Jerusalem with Interpol’s assistance before being detained in Zurich. Upon arrival in India, he will be taken into police custody in Gurugram for interrogation.
The attack on Fazilpuria’s car occurred on July 14 near Badshahpur Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), Sector 71, Gurugram, when two shots were fired at him. Fortunately, the singer escaped unharmed, with one bullet hitting a pole on the divider. Sardhania, reportedly a close friend of Fazilpuria, later claimed responsibility on social media, naming Deepak Nandal, a music producer, and Indrajit Yadav, allegedly linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang, as co-conspirators. He alleged that Fazilpuria owed Rs 5 crore to Nandal and threatened to harm Fazilpuria’s associates if repayment was not made.

Officials also stated that Sardhania faces multiple serious charges, including the murder of Rohit Shaukeen, a property dealer and friend of Fazilpuria. In August, Shaukeen was shot dead outside his car near Ullahwas Market, Sector 77, Gurugram, by attackers wearing food delivery company T-shirts. Sardhania later claimed responsibility for the murder on social media.
Authorities are expected to conduct detailed interrogations in Gurugram to uncover further details regarding the attacks and the alleged criminal network linked to Sardhania.
