Mangaluru, Oct 25: The Annual Sports Day 2025 for classes I to V themed – Expression in Motion, Strength and Synergy was held on Friday, October 24 in the Church Hall. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship and teamwork among students.

The day commenced with a grand opening ceremony.The esteemed chief guest, Dr Shakira Irfana, currently positioned as an associate professor at Yenepoya, Deemed to be University, along with dignitaries Dr John Baptist Saldanha, manager, LCS; Fr Johnson L Sequeira, principal; Anita Thomas, vice principal; Fr Roydon Misquith, Gowri Baliga, joint secretary, PTEC; Vishwanath Devadiga, coordinator for Physical Education; Shanthi Menezes, academic coordinator of classes I and II; Amrithalaxmi, CTO, NCC army wing; LCS sports ministers Shreyas Bhat and Anya Mascarenhas; NCC pilots Ayush A Shetty, Nireekshith U P, Rhea Karthika Uchila and Sinchana Sunil Shetty; guest pilots Shradha Arbi and Tashvi S Putran were accorded a grand welcome to the rhythmic beats of the LCS Band Troupe.

The event was compered by Suneetha K and Mini Kumari, who gracefully led the audience through the sequence of the events, ensuring the smooth flow of the programme.

The programme began with a prayer song by the junior school choir, guided by Angelina Moras, the music teacher, creating a serene and spiritual ambience that invoked divine blessings for the day.

The welcome address was warmly delivered by the students of class IV. Shanthi Menezes then introduced the chief guest to the gathering, after which the chief guest was felicitated and delivered an inspiring address to the audience. The chief guest highlighted that engaging in sports keeps our mind and body energized, as it boosts our overall well-being.

In his presidential address, Fr Manager delivered an encouraging and inspiring message, highlighting the importance of sports and teamwork in student life.

Winners of various events were honoured with medals and certificates, recognizing their hard work and achievements.

The atmosphere throughout the event was electrifying, filled with cheers from students, teachers and parents.

The event concluded with a melodious orchestra by the Junior School Choir, followed by the school anthem. The Annual Sports Day was a resounding success, fostering a sense of healthy competition, joy, and unity within the school community. It was a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and unforgettable memories leaving everyone eagerly looking forward to the next one.
