Begusarai, Oct 23: Tragedy struck Rahua village in Bihar’s Begusarai district late Wednesday night when four people, including a woman and her daughter, were run over by a train while attempting to cross railway tracks, officials said.

The incident occurred on the Barauni-Katihar section, according to SHO Sintu Kumar of Sahebpur Kamal police station. The victims were reportedly returning home after attending a fair in a nearby area when the Amrapali Express was passing through.

The deceased have been identified as Rita Devi (40), her daughter Roshni Kumari (14), Arohi Kumari (7), and their uncle Dharm Dev Mahto (35).

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the victims’ family members have been informed, police added.
