Los Angeles, Oct 21: Joe Jonas has firmly addressed and dismissed rumors about drug use after a viral video sparked speculation online. The 36-year-old singer found himself at the center of controversy when a clip circulated showing him fidgeting with his nose during a live performance with his brothers, Nick and Kevin Jonas, as part of their JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour.
In an interview with Esquire, Joe tackled the allegations head-on, stating, “I’ve never touched cocaine in my life. But if I did, I think I’d be a little slicker about it than doing it onstage.” The video in question shows Joe momentarily stepping out of full view to check his nose using a mirror, switching between his finger and a black cloth. The moment triggered social media speculation, with some users accusing the Cake by the Ocean singer of using cocaine mid-performance.

Poking fun at the situation, Joe responded on social media with a light-hearted comment: “lol you never had a booger?”
Aside from clearing the air, the Camp Rock star also opened up about his personal life in the same interview. He revealed that touring hasn’t been particularly conducive to dating, saying, “Five shows in a row doesn’t make it easy to meet someone for coffee.” He added that while he’s not on dating apps, he has connected with people through Instagram and TikTok — both of which he joked count as apps in their own way.
Jonas described himself as “extremely online,” a factor that has clearly kept him plugged into what people are saying — including the unfounded rumors.
Joe shares two daughters, Willa (5) and Delphine (3), with his ex-wife, actress Sophie Turner. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, finalized their divorce in 2024.
Despite the noise online, Jonas seems unbothered and focused on music, family, and humor — the latter proving useful when facing the internet’s microscope.
