Khardah, Oct 21: A massive fire broke out early Tuesday at a dye factory in Khardah, rapidly spreading due to stored chemicals. Explosions were heard from the site, and flames also engulfed a nearby T-shirt factory, causing panic among residents.
The fire erupted around 4:30 a.m. in Ishwaripur, covering the area with thick black smoke. About 20 fire engines and a large contingent of police are at the scene, trying to control the blaze. Barrackpore Police Commissioner Murli Dhar has also reached the spot.

A senior police officer said, “Since it is a dye factory, there are a lot of chemicals. The fire spread quickly to the neighboring T-shirt factory. Explosions were heard, and we are trying to ensure no one is trapped inside.”
Fire officials added that controlling the dye factory blaze will take time, and the source of the fire is yet unknown. The safety of workers inside the factory remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
