Gold & watches worth Rs 8.5 lac stolen from Zuarinagar flat

Zuarinagar, Oct 20: Verna police have begun an investigation after unidentified miscreants allegedly broke into a flat at Zuarinagar, Sancoale, and made away with gold ornaments and wristwatches valued at around Rs 8.5 lakh.

The complaint was filed by Raj Dulari Rana, a resident of Mangor Hill, Vasco, who stated that the theft occurred between September 9 at 3.30 pm and October 18 at 6 pm. According to police, the culprits broke open the main door of her flat and escaped with two gold bangles weighing 40.18 grams, a mangalsutra weighing 30 grams, two finger rings, a pair of earrings weighing 15 grams, and two wristwatches.

Based on her complaint, Verna police have registered an offence under Sections 331(1)(2) and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case is being investigated by PSI Mahesh Bhomkar under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.

Police teams have launched efforts to identify and trace the accused involved in the burglary.
