Patna, Oct 20: The Congress on Monday announced six more candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, taking its total tally to 60, even as seat-sharing talks with the RJD in the Mahagathbandhan remain unresolved.
The party released the list past midnight, with Surendra Prasad Kushwaha contesting from Valmiki Nagar, Abidur Rehman from Araria, Jalil Mastan from Amour, Tauquir Alam from Barari, Praveen Singh Kushwaha from Kahalgaon, and Vinod Chaudhary from Sikandra (SC).

Tensions within the INDIA bloc were evident on Sunday, as disgruntled aspirants from both the Congress and RJD accused leaders of “selling” tickets, raising questions over the candidate selection process.
Monday is the final day for filing nomination papers for the second phase of the polls. Despite the ongoing stalemate, both the Congress and RJD continued disbursing party symbols to their candidates.
Earlier, the Congress released a first list of 48 candidates on Thursday, including state unit chief Rajesh Ram from Kutumba and CLP leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan from Kadwa. On Friday, Rishi Mishra was announced from Jale, followed by five more candidates on Saturday.
With alliance negotiations still in limbo, the Congress aims to consolidate its position in the Bihar elections while navigating growing discontent among aspirants, as the INDIA bloc gears up for the crucial polls.
