Bihar election drama: RJD aspirant tears clothes, rolls on road after denied ticket

Patna, Oct 19: A bizarre scene unfolded outside RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s residence on Sunday when a party aspirant, denied a ticket for the upcoming Bihar elections, broke down, tore off his clothes, and rolled on the road in protest. The incident has quickly gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.

The aspirant, Madan Sah, claimed he had long-standing ties with the Rashtriya Janata Dal and had hoped to secure a ticket from Madhuban, where he was the runner-up in 2020, narrowly losing to the BJP candidate.

“I was asked to cough up Rs 2.7 crore. I managed by putting the weddings of my children on hold. Now I am finished. At least, they should return the money,” Sah lamented during the dramatic protest.

RJD leaders, however, remained tight-lipped on allegations of a monetary demand from the aspirant.

With the filing of nomination papers closing on Monday, it remains unclear whether the Madhuban seat will be contested again by the RJD or one of its allies. The unusual protest has added an unexpected twist to the Bihar election campaign, highlighting the intensity and high stakes of candidate selection in the state.
