Kupwara, Oct 14: Tension gripped the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara sector on Monday evening after Indian Army troops opened fire upon detecting suspicious movement along the border.
According to official sources, the incident occurred around 7 pm when soldiers posted along the LoC noticed movement in the dark, suspected to be an infiltration attempt from across the border. Acting swiftly, the troops opened fire to neutralize the possible threat.

“In the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army troops witnessed some suspicious movement along the Line of Control and fired towards it in the evening, around 7 pm. Operations are continuing in the area. More details awaited,” the Indian Army stated.
Security forces have launched a massive search operation in the dense forest area to trace any possible infiltrators. Additional reinforcements have also been rushed to the spot as precautionary measures.
