Mumbai, Oct 8: Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is set to lend his iconic voice as the narrator in the upcoming war film ‘120 Bahadur’, which stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role and brings to life the heroic true events of the 1962 India-China war.
The announcement was made during a special episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, where Farhan appeared alongside his father, acclaimed lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, to celebrate Big B’s birthday. In a heartwarming segment, Farhan requested the veteran actor to narrate the film’s opening, which sets the stage for the Battle of Rezang La.
“Our film begins with a narrator’s voice explaining what happened at Rezang La. If you could be that voice, it would be an honour,” said Farhan to Bachchan during the episode. The megastar graciously accepted, adding emotional weight to a film already rooted in patriotism and sacrifice.

‘120 Bahadur’, directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, tells the story of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought valiantly against 3,000 Chinese troops at Rezang La during the 1962 conflict. Farhan Akhtar plays the lead role of the brave Major, who became a symbol of unwavering courage in one of the most significant battles in Indian military history.
Shot against the stunning and stark backdrops of Ladakh, the film promises both visual spectacle and emotional depth. It dives into the geopolitical backdrop of the Sino-Indian war, highlighting the tension over Aksai Chin and the collapse of diplomatic efforts, which led to China’s two-front assault in October 1962.
Despite being heavily outnumbered and under-equipped, Major Shaitan Singh and his men held their ground with extraordinary bravery — a story that remains etched in Indian military lore.
The film also touches upon critical historical context, such as India’s lack of military preparedness, Nehru’s hesitation to deploy air power, and the absence of Soviet support during the war due to the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios), ‘120 Bahadur’ is slated to release in cinemas on November 21, 2025.
With Amitabh Bachchan’s voice anchoring the narrative and Farhan stepping into the shoes of a national hero, the film promises to be a poignant tribute to the unsung warriors of Rezang La, capturing both history and heroism in equal measure.
