Researchers claim alien DNA may have altered human genes, but no proof yet

New York, Oct 7: In a claim that has sparked widespread curiosity and scepticism, a group of researchers has suggested that aliens might have abducted humans and inserted genes into their DNA, potentially triggering genetic changes in humanity, according to a report by The New York Post.

Dr Max Rempel, founder and CEO of the DNA Resonance Research Foundation, who led the study, told the Daily Mail that “humanity may be undergoing genetic transformation.” The research, however, is not peer-reviewed and remains highly speculative.

According to the study, researchers analysed DNA from both ordinary individuals and those who claimed to have been abducted by aliens. They examined 581 families from the 1,000 Genomes Project and reportedly found large DNA sequences in 11 families that did not match either parent.

Rempel also studied DNA results from 23andMe participants who claimed alien abduction experiences. Some of these reportedly showed “non-parental genetic markers,” which he believes could indicate unexplained genetic insertions.

However, Dr Rempel clarified that the findings are preliminary and inconclusive, stressing that more advanced datasets are needed. “No conclusive evidence yet, because we need better datasets, which are available only on approval. That takes time and effort,” he said.

He further explained that most public DNA databases are based on cultured cell samples, which can produce artificial genomic changes, adding that these should not be treated as proof of extraterrestrial influence.

The researchers also speculated that people with neurodivergent traits such as autism, ADHD, or Asperger’s might carry such genetic insertions, though they acknowledged that this assumption lacks scientific basis.

Despite the bold claims, no scientific evidence supports the existence of alien life or extraterrestrial genetic interference. NASA has consistently maintained that there is no proof of alien existence.

Meanwhile, some scientists have pointed to a more grounded explanation through Horizontal Gene Transfer (HGT) — a natural process where genes are transferred between organisms in the same environment, rather than through inheritance. Studies indicate humans may have acquired around 145 genes through this process from microorganisms, often referred to as “alien genes” in a metaphorical sense.

While the theory has stirred public imagination, experts have urged caution, underscoring that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence — and, so far, none exists to confirm an extraterrestrial role in human evolution.
