Mangaluru, Oct 2: Rich tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahaddur Shastri at Expert PU College in Valachil to mark the occasion of their birth anniversaries.
Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, the principal of the college presided over the ceremony and delivered an inspiring speech. Paying floral tribute to the icons, he emphasised Gandhi's selfless struggles and how he weaponised non-violence against British Empire which made him a renowned global leader. Dr. Karippal encouraged the students to emulate Gandhi's ideals.
Dhruthi V Hegde, vice-principal (Administration) and Gurudath N, coaching head also spoke on the occasion.
Student Bhavyatha Kumari presented a life sketch of the great leaders. Student Naman B A welcomed the gathering and hosted the programme. Shishir proposed the vote of thanks.
