New Delhi, Oct 2: Two members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar–Virender Charan gang, allegedly assigned to eliminate stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqi, were arrested following a gunfight on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road on Thursday, police said.

The accused, identified as Rahul and Sahil, hail from Panipat and Bhiwani in Haryana, according to investigators. Police said the duo had been taking instructions from foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who is reportedly collaborating with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan to target Faruqi. The men had allegedly conducted reconnaissance in Mumbai and Bengaluru to track the comedian’s movements.

Faruqi, who won the reality show Bigg Boss in 2024, has a substantial social media following, with 14.2 million Instagram followers.

Rahul, who sustained a gunshot wound during the encounter, was wanted in connection with a triple murder in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in December 2024. He was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Police seized firearms and a motorcycle used in the incident.

Investigations into the gang’s operations and possible links to other criminal activities are ongoing. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against all involved in the planned attack.
