Panaji, Sep 27: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant has directed companies operating in the state to compile lists of available job opportunities and submit them to their nearest panchayats. The directive came during his address at the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Verna Industries Association.
Emphasising transparency and local engagement, CM Sawant stated that panchayats must be kept informed about staff requirements. “Let us see what steps the panchayats take,” he added, hinting at a more active role for local governance bodies in employment facilitation.

The chief minister also reaffirmed his government’s position on local job reservations, making it clear that employment opportunities must be given to Goans first. He stressed that companies have a responsibility to ensure that local candidates are prioritised in their recruitment processes, reinforcing the administration’s push for inclusive economic development within the state.
