Raipur, Sep 26: Six workers were killed and six others injured when the roof of a structure collapsed at a private steel plant in Raipur, police said on Friday.
The mishap occurred at the Godawari Power and Ispat Limited plant in the Siltara area on the outskirts of the city, Senior Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh told PTI.
“The roof collapsed, trapping workers underneath. Upon receiving the alert, police teams rushed to the site and a rescue operation was launched. Six workers died, and six others were injured,” the SSP said.
The injured workers have been hospitalised, and the rescue operation is ongoing, as authorities fear more people may still be trapped under the debris.
