Taxi operators threaten agitation over steep entry fee hike at Mopa Airport

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Sep 25: Taxi operators at Manohar International Airport, Mopa, have voiced strong opposition to the sudden increase in entry fees from Rs 80 to Rs 200, calling the hike arbitrary and unaffordable. At a protest meeting, the operators warned that unless the fee is rolled back within 48 hours, they would launch a mass agitation along with their families.

Describing the hike as unjustified and financially burdensome, the operators received backing from former Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar and former Sarpanch Tulshidas Gawas, who were present in solidarity.

The operators issued a stern warning: if authorities fail to act swiftly, they will halt taxi services at the airport, potentially disrupting passenger movement.
