Panaji, Sep 21: In a proactive move to prepare for the upcoming tourism season, Goa’s Tourism Department has carried out early demarcation of beach areas at Cavelossim, Benaulim, Colva, and Betalbatim, paving the way for the timely erection of beach shacks.
According to Cruz Cardozo, President of the Goa Shack Owners Society, this is the first time in history that the demarcation process has been completed as early as August. Speaking to Prudent Media, Cardozo confirmed that shack erection by operators is already underway and that the beach shack season has officially begun.

He added that the early start is a positive development for Goa's tourism-dependent economy and allows shack owners sufficient time to prepare for the influx of domestic and international tourists expected in the coming months.
Cardozo also emphasized the Society’s commitment to working closely with the government, especially in curbing the sub-letting of beach shacks, which remains a concern. The Society will assist the Tourism Department in identifying and reporting such violations to ensure compliance with licensing rules and protect the interests of legitimate shack operators.
The early preparations signal a promising start to the 2025–26 tourism season, with officials and stakeholders focused on maintaining quality standards and regulatory discipline across Goa’s popular beaches.
