New Hampshire, Sep 21: A tragic shooting at the upscale Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday evening has left one person dead and several others injured, casting a shadow over what was meant to be a celebratory night. The country club, located near the Massachusetts border, was hosting a wedding when chaos erupted.
New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley confirmed during a late-night press briefing that the victims included individuals with gunshot wounds as well as others injured in the panic that followed. The exact number of people hurt has not yet been disclosed. While no formal arrests have been made, one person of interest is currently in custody.

Authorities initially believed two suspects were involved, but surveillance footage has since clarified that the shooter acted alone. The New Hampshire State Police are supporting Nashua police in the ongoing investigation. Residents have been urged to avoid the Sky Meadow area as law enforcement continues to secure and process the scene.
A unification site for families has been established at the Sheraton Nashua hotel, about a mile from the incident location.
The shooting has drawn swift reactions from state leaders. Senator Jeanne Shaheen expressed deep concern, writing, "Billy and I are praying for those injured. There is no place in our state for this type of senseless violence." Representative Maggie Goodlander echoed the sentiment, saying her heart was with the victims and the Nashua community. Senator Maggie Hassan added that she was “grateful for the work of the law enforcement officers and first responders at the scene.”
Sky Meadow Country Club, a private venue known for hosting weddings and large gatherings, has been a well-regarded spot in the Nashua area. Saturday’s wedding turned into a nightmare, leaving the tight-knit community in shock.
Nashua, a city just 45 minutes from Boston, is reeling from the sudden violence as investigators work to piece together what led to the deadly attack. Officials have pledged a thorough inquiry and will release more details as the investigation progresses.
