Mumbai, Sep 20: While Deepika Padukone has stepped back from projects like Kalki 2898 AD, the actress is already gearing up for an exciting new venture. She has officially begun filming for ‘King’, marking her sixth collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. The duo was last seen together in Jawan.
Sharing a glimpse of the first day on Instagram, Deepika held Shah Rukh’s hand and wrote about a lesson she learned from him during Om Shanti Om nearly 18 years ago. “The very first lesson he taught me almost 18 years ago while filming Om Shanti Om was that the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success… And that's probably why we're back making our 6th movie together. #king #day1,” she captioned the post.

From Om Shanti Om to hits like Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan, the Shah Rukh–Deepika pairing has always been a fan favourite.
This announcement comes shortly after Deepika was officially dropped from the sequel to Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. Vyjayanthi Movies confirmed the news on social media, stating that despite a long journey on the first film, a partnership could not be forged. “A film like Kalki 2898 AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works,” the makers added.
Earlier this year, she was also replaced in Prabhas’ Spirit, with Triptii Dimri stepping in for the role. With King, fans can now look forward to another highly anticipated collaboration between Bollywood’s beloved pair.
