Mangaluru, Sep 18: The higher primary section of St Theresa’s School, celebrated its Annual Day on September 17 at the Msgr Raymond Auditorium with immense enthusiasm and joy. The celebration revolved around the inspiring theme, 'Esperanza – Igniting Dreams, Inspiring Hope', which echoed the aspirations and vibrant energy of the students.

The event was graced by Ananthapadmanabha, police inspector of the Mangalore East police station, who was the chief guest for the evening. Sr Mariette BS, member of the council of management, presided over the programme. Also present were Sr Shaila BS, the school correspondent, and Sr Lourdes BS, the principal, whose leadership and dedication were reflected throughout the evening’s presentations.

The programme began with a guard of honour by the students to warmly receive the dignitaries. This was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony, symbolising the triumph of knowledge and light over ignorance. A soulful invocation prayer song then set a reverent and uplifting tone for the event.

The principal, Sr Lourdes BS, extended a gracious welcome address, highlighting the school’s commitment to nurturing students holistically.

The welcome address was followed by a vibrant welcome dance – Rhythm of Joy, that delighted the audience. The cultural segment unfolded with spectrum of life, a performance that celebrated the rich tapestry of life through rhythm, dance, and colour. This was followed by our school, our pride, a touching and powerful dance drama that captured the essence, ethos, and achievements of St Theresa’s School.

In his address, chief guest Anantha Padmanabha lauded the efforts of the students and faculty, urging the young minds to continue striving for excellence. He also encouraged students to be cautious of social media and remain socially responsible. He was presented with a memento by the Principal as a token of gratitude.

Sr Mariette BS, in her presidential message, appreciated the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through holistic education. She reminded the students of the values of compassion, integrity, and service. She too was honoured with a memento by the Correspondent, prompting enthusiastic applause.

The event concluded on a high note with the Grand Finale – a spectacular performance encapsulating the themes of hope, unity, and celebration. It was also a touching tribute to St Thérèse of Lisieux, celebrating her life and teachings that continue to inspire generations.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered, acknowledging the contributions of all who made the event a grand success. The celebration came to a close with the National Anthem, evoking a deep sense of patriotism and unity among all present.
