Mumbai, Sep 18: Hollywood horror franchise film The Conjuring: Last Rites, which released alongside Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files, has clearly dominated the competition since its opening day. However, the movie is now witnessing a sharp decline in collections as it approaches the end of its second week in theatres.

The film opened to an impressive Rs 17.5 crore on day one and continued strong over the weekend, raking in Rs 67 crore in its first week. From the second Monday, however, the numbers began to fall drastically. While the film managed Rs 1 crore on day 11 and Rs 1.3 crore on day 12 (helped by discounted ticket rates in some theatres), it dropped further to just Rs 82 lakh on day 13 (second Wednesday).

With this, The Conjuring: Last Rites has reached a total collection of Rs 78.47 crore in India. Trade analysts expect the film to finish its run around the Rs 80 crore mark.

Meanwhile, anticipation is building for Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3, releasing this Friday, which could revive the box office and pose tough competition to the slowing titles — The Conjuring: Last Rites, Baaghi 4, and The Bengal Files.
