Nepal national held with 3.5 kg ganja worth Rs 3.5 lac at Thivim Railway Station

Panaji, Sep 17: Colvale Police have arrested a 25-year-old Nepal national for allegedly possessing 3.5 kilograms of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 3.5 lac, during a raid conducted at Thivim railway station on Monday.

The accused, Roshan Japrel, who currently resides in Calangute, had arrived from Mumbai aboard the Mandovi Express. Acting on a tip-off, a special police team intercepted him at the station’s parking area and found the contraband intended for sale in Goa.

Police confirmed that Japrel had previously been arrested in 2024 by Saligao Police in connection with another NDPS case. Further investigation into his network and possible suppliers is currently underway.
