Bengaluru: Konkani Manyata Sambram celebrates language & heritage with fervour

Bengaluru, Sep 16: The spirit of Konkani culture came alive at the Konkani Manyata Sambram, organized by Konkani Basha Mandal Karnataka on September 14 at Sree Ram Sameeksha Apartment Club House in association with Fathima Konkani Kutam Jalahalli, Bengaluru. Celebrating the richness of the language and its vibrant traditions.

The evening began with a warm welcome by Joel Aranha followed by the felicitation of senior Konkani writer Lilly Miranda and senior member of the association Apolin D'Souza honouring their immense contribution to literature and culture. The presence of the chief guest Urban D'Souza, a distinguished professor, along with the president Valerian Pinto, secretary of Konkani Basha Mandal Remond D'Cunha, FKCA president Antony Gonsalves and the coordinator Janet Vas added grace and depth to the celebration.

The cultural programme was a delightful showcase of talent and heritage. Poetry recitations resonated with emotion, while riddles and proverbs reminded everyone of the wit and wisdom rooted in Konkani tradition. Storytelling sessions transported the audience to nostalgic times, while soulful singing and graceful dances brought energy and joy to the stage. The enthusiastic performances by children, in particular, won everyone’s hearts and kept the spirit of the evening vibrant.

The event concluded with a sense of pride and unity, as participants and guests alike celebrated the beauty of the Konkani language and culture. The Konkani Manyata Sambram was truly a memorable evening of heritage, artistry, and togetherness.
