Salt Lake City, Sep 11: In a shocking incident that has sent tremors across the United States, conservative activist and founder of ‘Turning Point USA,’ Charlie Kirk, was shot dead while addressing students at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
US President Donald Trump, describing Kirk as a “martyr for truth” and a “legendary patriot,” strongly condemned the killing, promising strict action against those behind what he termed as “political violence fueled by radical rhetoric.”

“My administration will track down every single individual and organisation that contributed to this atrocity. Political violence, whether through funding, support, or instigation, will not be tolerated,” Trump said in a televised address.
The President also lashed out at the radical left, holding them morally responsible for the growing wave of violence in the country. “For years, they compared great Americans like Charlie to Nazis and criminals. This rhetoric has now spilled into terrorism, and it must end immediately,” he added.
Authorities revealed that Kirk was fatally struck by a single bullet while speaking to a packed auditorium. Panic broke out as students rushed for safety. Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooter, dressed in black, fired the shot from a rooftop overlooking the campus before escaping.
Though one suspect was initially detained, FBI Director Kash Patel later confirmed that the person was released, and no one is currently in custody.
Kirk, a close ally of Trump, was widely known for mobilising conservative youth through his organisation, which played a major role in boosting Trump’s support base among younger voters.
“This is a dark moment for America,” Trump remarked, urging citizens to rededicate themselves to the values of free speech, rule of law, and national unity. “Charlie’s voice will only grow louder from this tragedy. May God bless his memory and his family.”
