Christ King girls’ volleyball team & primary students qualify for Mysuru division-level tournament

Karkala, Sep 10: The girls’ volleyball team of Christ King English Medium High School, has secured first place in the Udupi district-level girls’ volleyball tournament and qualified for the Mysuru division-level competition. The tournament was organized at Government High School, Kavadi, in association with the Udupi Zilla Panchayat, the Department of Public Instruction, and the Government of Karnataka.

The victorious team comprised class 9 students Shagun Verma, Shainy D’Souza, Karthika Shetty, and Ashika; class 10 students Vidyashree and Keerthana D’Souza; and class 8 student Saanvi Shetty. Among them, Shainy D’Souza, Shagun Verma, and Karthika Shetty were selected to represent the Mysuru division. Shagun Verma was adjudged Best Attacker, while Shainy D’Souza won the Best Passer award.

In addition, the Karkala taluk girls’ team in the primary section also clinched first place at the district-level tournament. From the team, class 6 students Trishma S, Ketlin Angel Pinto, and Elsa Rubel earned selection to the Mysuru division-level competition. Notably, Trishma S was honored with the Best Attacker award in the primary category.
