Mangaluru: Monthi Fest celebrated with devotion at AIMIT

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 4: Monthi Fest, the nativity of Mother Mary, was celebrated with devotion and joy at AIMIT Centre, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), on September 4.

The solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Nilesh Crasta, administrator of FMHM, Deralakatte, as the main celebrant. He was joined by Dr Fr Kiran Coth, director of AIMIT, along with Fr Manoj, Fr Avinash, and Fr Sijo, who concelebrated the festive Mass.

In his homily, Fr Nilesh highlighted the virtues of Mother Mary, drawing attention to her obedience and sense of responsibility as a mother. He further emphasised the importance of children being obedient not only to their biological mothers but also to Mother Earth by showing care and respect for the environment.

Earlier in the celebration, the new corn was blessed by Dr (Fr) Manoj D’Souza SJ, followed by a devotional procession with the statue of infant Mother Mary carried in a palanquin.

The celebration, which marks the birthday of Mother Mary, was also a reminder of the value of family and the significance of honouring the girl child.
