Prayagraj, Sep 4: The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition seeking to stall the release of Jolly LLB 3, giving a major boost to the film ahead of its release. The plea had objected to the song ‘Bhai Vakeel Hai’ and alleged that the film defamed the judiciary and legal profession.
A division bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh examined the teaser, trailer and lyrics of the song before ruling that there was nothing objectionable in the content. The court stated that it found no reason to interfere and rejected the plea in its entirety.
The third instalment of the franchise, directed by Subhash Kapoor, stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao. The film is scheduled for release on September 19.
