Sonu Nigam’s soulful rendition of ‘Pardesiya’ wins hearts

Mumbai, Aug 30: Celebrated singer Sonu Nigam has once again struck an emotional chord with fans, this time with his stirring rendition of the newly released love ballad “Pardesiya” from the film Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor.

Nigam took to social media to share a video of himself casually strolling alongside a river at Aareschlucht Gorge, singing the track candidly while using Meta smart glasses to record the moment.

“The Gorge and I, both are singing our own tunes. Pardesiya, in Pardes,” he wrote in his caption.

The song, composed by Sachin-Jigar, features vocals by Sonu Nigam, Krishnakali, and the composer duo themselves. Describing the track as something that “feels like it’s been living in people’s hearts for years even though it’s brand new,” the duo called the collaboration with Nigam on his birthday nothing short of cosmic.

“There’s a certain kind of magic he brings — an ache and depth that can’t be imitated,” said Sachin-Jigar.

“Krishnakali’s voice added a haunting, ethereal quality. We’re proud of the textures that emerged when all three voices came together.”

Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the lyrics have been praised for their emotional resonance.

“He doesn’t just write words, he writes feelings,” said the composers, calling Pardesiya a celebration of the return of romance in cinema.

Sidharth Malhotra, who stars in the film, called Pardesiya his favourite track from the soundtrack:

“It isn’t just a song, it’s a feeling. From the first time I heard it, I knew it was special. Sonu sir’s voice brings timeless emotion, and shooting this with Janhvi felt effortless.”

With its soothing melody, poignant lyrics, and Nigam’s signature emotive voice, Pardesiya is fast becoming the heart and soul of Param Sundari — and a new fan-favourite in the realm of cinematic love songs.
