BJP supporter denies abusing PM Modi, claims fake photos circulating online

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 30: Nek Mohammad Rizwi, a BJP supporter, has denied allegations of abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Bihar rally, calling it a disinformation campaign aimed at defaming him and the party ahead of the state elections.

Speaking to NDTV, Rizwi said, “I have no connection with Bihar. I have never visited Bihar. I have not abused anyone. Modi ji is our leader. I have lodged a complaint to remove my photos from social media; there is an attempt to defame the BJP.” He emphasized that fake images of him with top BJP leaders were being circulated to mislead the public.

The controversy erupted after a 33-second unverified video from the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Darbhanga circulated online, showing a man shouting expletives at the Prime Minister. BJP sources claimed the individual was Rizwi, while Congress distanced itself from the incident.

Bihar Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the video but have not confirmed Rizwi’s involvement. Rizwi showed copies of his police complaint, urging authorities and the public to verify call records and locations proving he has never visited Bihar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a rally in Assam, criticised the Congress, calling the alleged incident a “stain” on the country and claiming that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress politics has reached its lowest level.
