New Delhi, Aug 28: An IndiGo flight carrying around 150 passengers from Surat to Dubai was forced to make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad on Thursday morning after the aircraft experienced a technical snag.
The flight departed Surat at 9:30 am but was diverted and safely landed at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad about 90 minutes later. Airport officials confirmed the pilots opted for a precautionary landing after identifying the issue mid-flight.
Passengers faced a delay of nearly two hours before IndiGo arranged a replacement aircraft. The new flight departed Ahmedabad at approximately 1:45 p.m. and subsequently reached Dubai at 1:35 p.m. local time.

In an official statement, IndiGo said, “Flight 6E 1507, operating from Surat to Dubai, made a precautionary landing in Ahmedabad due to a technical snag. The aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance checks, and an alternative plane was provided to ensure passengers reached their destination.”
The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience and noted that meals and refreshments were offered during the wait, reaffirming that the safety of customers and crew is their highest priority.
This incident follows a similar emergency landing by an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa last month when an engine failure forced the plane to land safely in Mumbai on July 15.
Meanwhile, IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation, saw its shares close down 5.22% at Rs 5,734 on the National Stock Exchange on Thursday. The decline followed reports that promoter Rakesh Gangwal’s family planned to sell shares worth Rs 7,085 crore through a block deal, involving 1.2 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 5,830 each.
