Mangaluru, Aug 25: The Adyapady–Anthonykatte Parish joyfully celebrated the 34th Konkani Manyatha Divas at St Antony Church, Anthonykatte, with a grand cultural evening filled with music, dance, and community spirit. The celebration highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Konkani language through a variety of performances by parishioners of all ages.
Cultural extravaganza
The evening’s programme comprised a live musical show, dances, skits, and other variety performances. A live parish band added a special charm to the event. The musicians included Rajesh D’Costa (Keyboard), Royston D’Souza (Bass Guitar), Sushan D’Costa (Trumpet), Suhan D’Costa (Drums), Sherwin D’Souza (Keyboard), Ian Mathias (Rhythm Guitar), and Ithan Mathias (Violin). More than 25 singers, ranging from children to youth and elders, lent their voices to create a truly memorable performance.






















































In addition, ICYM Adyapady and members of Fathima Ward captivated the audience with energetic dances and a skit, keeping the spirit of Konkani alive through art and creativity.
Guests and felicitations
The programme was graced by the presence of chief guests – Santhu Omzoor and Roshu Bajpe, along with parish priest Fr Francis Rodrigues, vice president Jhonson D’Souza, secretary Sunil D’Souza, Br Ajay Dsouza, Sr Philomena, and Rajesh D’Costa.
On the occasion, Roshu Bajpe was felicitated for his remarkable contributions towards the growth and promotion of the Konkani language. In his address, he lauded the talents of Anthonykatte parishioners, remarking that the performances reflected the hidden artistic richness within the community. Chief guest Santhu Omzoor delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of preserving and nurturing Konkani language and culture for future generations.
Launch of digital platforms
Marking a significant milestone, parish priest Fr Francis Rodrigues inaugurated the official website of St Antony Church, Anthonykatte. Alongside the website, the official WhatsApp Group, WhatsApp Channel, YouTube, and Instagram pages of the parish were also launched, ensuring wider digital engagement with parishioners and well-wishers across the globe.
Anchoring and conclusion
The well-coordinated programme was beautifully compered by Wilfred Mathias, Silviya D’Costa, Preema D’Costa, and Alryne D’Costa.
In his concluding remarks, Fr Francis Rodrigues extended heartfelt gratitude to all performers, organizers, and parishioners for their active participation and wholehearted support in making the 34th Konkani Manyatha Divas a resounding success.
The evening concluded with a community dinner served to all attendees, fostering unity and fellowship among the parish community.
