Mumbai, Aug 24: Marking a major milestone in his career, veteran actor Anil Kapoor took to Instagram today to celebrate 25 years of the 2000 romantic drama Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. The film, which starred Kapoor alongside Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonali Bendre, and the late Satish Kaushik, dealt with complex themes like trauma, love, and emotional resilience, wrapped in a classic Bollywood narrative.
In a heartfelt post, Kapoor shared a photo collage from the film, along with an emotional caption reflecting on the film’s legacy and the cherished memories associated with it. “My heart is filled with memories of my dearest friend Satish Kaushik,” he wrote, remembering his long-time collaborator and friend, who passed away in 2023.

Kapoor also recalled how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan came on board for the project. “While we were shooting Taal, I was struck by her incredible talent and suggested her name to Naidu Saab and Satish ji,” he revealed. Initially, there were some hesitations about casting her, but once Kaushik saw her on set, “he was convinced.” Kapoor added that just before filming began, Aishwarya had second thoughts and almost backed out, but a heartfelt visit by him and Kaushik convinced her to stay. “Thankfully, she decided to stay on board… her performance was phenomenal and the film went on to become a super hit.”
Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai was known for its emotionally layered narrative, where Aishwarya played Preeti, a rape survivor navigating life’s aftermath, and Kapoor played Avinash, a kind-hearted man who becomes her emotional anchor. The film resonated deeply with audiences and was praised for its sensitive handling of difficult themes at a time when such topics were rarely portrayed in mainstream cinema.
Kapoor ended his tribute with gratitude: “Grateful for the memories, the magic we created, and for my friend Satish, whom I miss dearly every day.”
Prior to Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Kapoor and Aishwarya shared screen space in the hit film Taal. His bond with Satish Kaushik, however, spanned over three decades—one of Bollywood’s most enduring friendships.
The post stirred a wave of nostalgia among fans, with many remembering the film for its emotional depth and powerful performances.
