Mangaluru: 79th Independence Day celebration at AIMIT centre

Mangaluru, Aug 15: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great pride and patriotism at St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) AIMIT Centre, on August 15. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr Fr Manoj Dsouza SJ.

The National Flag was unfurled by Dr Fr Manoj Dsouza SJ, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The programme then commenced with a prayer song led by the college choir, followed by a patriotic song.

In his address, Brill Brenhil, assistant professor, remarked, “Independence is not about isolating ourselves, but about living together without stereotypes.”

The commanding officer for the day was Samarth Shetty, while the event was compered by Vinay Krishna. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr Fr Kiran Cotha SJ, director, AIMIT Centre.
