Mangaluru, Aug 14: Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), recently held its graduation ceremony ‘Samavartan-2025’ at the Endurance Zone in Deralakatte.

Yenepoya University pro-chancellor Prof B H Sripathi Rao conferred the degrees and in his address noted that today marked a moment of great joy for the parents who had eagerly awaited the success of their children after five and a half years of hard work. Graduates should express gratitude to their parents, teachers and God, he said. Highlighting that pursuing education is difficult in the current economic scenario, he expressed pride that more women are achieving higher education. He urged the graduates to focus on gaining practical experience in life, live with integrity and scientific outlook, and make use of the AYUSH department’s increasing emphasis on research. By integrating modern treatments with traditional healing, he said, it is possible to bring positive changes in patients’ lifestyles and promote better health.

Presiding over the function, college dean Dr Gururaj said that the graduating students were now ambassadors of Ayurveda and Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College. He urged them to adopt modern medical practices alongside traditional Ayurvedic methods that maintain a balance between mind and body. “Do not remain stagnant like still water, but embrace continuous learning, and give importance to research, innovation and collaboration,” he advised.

Yenepoya University registrar Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji, vice-principal Dr Subhada, and medical superintendent Dr Subhash were present.

On the occasion, degrees were conferred upon the students who had completed their Ayurveda course.
