Panaji, Aug 9: South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes has demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) respond to allegations of fake and multiple voting, which he said have been clearly exposed by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi with “complete evidence.”
Fernandes accused the ECI of losing the trust and respect of the people by failing to take responsibility. “Instead of owning up and investigating, let alone apologising to the people, the ECI is now brazenly trying to wipe off their footprints of fraud, thus undermining democracy and encouraging anti-national forces to continue their free run,” he alleged.
He urged the commission to take cognisance of the evidence presented by Rahul Gandhi and initiate a thorough investigation into the matter.
