Two arrested, women rescued in prostitution racket at Saligao

Saligao, Aug 9: Crime Branch officials rescued two women and arrested two men during a late-night raid at a fast food outlet in Saligao, allegedly being used as a front for prostitution.

Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Rahul Gupta said the accused, identified as Sani Kumar alias Alok (24) of Uttar Pradesh and Jitendra Gehlot alias Jeetu Ronny (26) of Rajasthan, were caught red-handed while attempting to deliver the women to customers.

“The accused had procured the women for prostitution. Both have been arrested, and vehicles along with mobile phones used in the crime have been seized for investigation,” Gupta stated.

The rescued women have been shifted to the Protective Home at Merces.
