7.1-Magnitude Quake Hits Pacific Island


New York, Feb 3 (IANS): An undersea quake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale Thursday jolted the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, the US Geological Survey said.

The epicentre was at a depth of 23.10 km, and determined at 17.7656 degrees south latitude and 167.1343 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
