New York, Jul 31: At a high-level international conference held in New York, India strongly emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire, humanitarian aid, and the pursuit of diplomatic dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Addressing the gathering, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, reaffirmed India’s long-standing support for a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Speaking at the High-Level International Conference on "The Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution", Ambassador Harish shed light on the grave humanitarian situation in Gaza. He noted that tens of thousands have lost their lives, many more have been injured, and children have been out of school for over 20 months due to the destruction of infrastructure and health facilities.

“Humanitarian assistance is vital in sustaining life and must remain outside the realm of politics or conflict,” he asserted. He stressed that India firmly calls for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid, release of all hostages, and resumption of purposeful dialogue between the conflicting parties.

India also welcomed the efforts of friendly nations who have contributed to facilitating talks and aid delivery. The Ambassador urged the global community to take swift and practical steps to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and work toward a lasting peace.

“It is India’s earnest desire to see peace and calm prevail in the Middle East. We must go beyond words and strive to implement actionable solutions that genuinely uplift the lives of our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” Ambassador Harish stated.

India reiterated its commitment to supporting constructive measures that pave the way for lasting peace and a meaningful two-state resolution.
