Mangaluru, Jul 30: The Department of Economics, School of Arts and Humanities of St Aloysius (Deemed to be university), organised "Econovanza 2025" an intercollegiate Economics fest for the PUC and degree college students. The fest was inaugurated by dropping coin into the piggy bank by the dignitaries.
The chief guest, Rithuparna K S, young innovator and engineer, Rolls-Royce (USA), spoke about her journey from an engineering student to Rolls Royce. She also mentioned that it is not the scores but the skills that will result in a good job and a fruitful career.
The guest of honour, Shwetha Arehole, classical dancer, Kannada film actress, content creator, alumna, spoke about her journey as a theatre artist and inspired the students to give their best in whatever they do.
The president of the programme Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru in his presidential address congratulated both the guests for their achievements and also portrayed them as role models for the students. Both the guests were felicitated for their achievements.
Students from 17 colleges within Karnataka and Goa participated in 10 different events. The valedictory programme began at 3.30 pm where the chief guest Mangalnath M K, ecopreneur & sales and marketing professional and an alumnus in his message encouraged students to be ecopreneurs and reminded them of the challenges that an entrepreneur has to face in his daily life.
The guest of honour Vijoy Ashwin Cardoza, founder & CEO - Fudar Wheels Pvt. Ltd. & Cardoza Infotech Pvt. Ltd, alumnus, shared his journey as an entrepreneur.
The president, Dr Charles V. Furtado, director-administrative block, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru congratulated the students for their wholehearted participation in different events and wished them well for their future.
SDM College Ujire and Creative College Karkala won the overall championship of "Econovanza 2025".
Azeem of 3rd BA and Prathiksha of 3rd BSc were the student coordinators for "Econovanza 2025".
The special attraction of the fest was Avinash Shetty, actor and model who graced the occasion and motivated the students in his message.
The Department of Economics felicitated Avinash Shetty for his achievements.
