Milagres College bids farewell to principal with ‘grateful hearts, abundant blessings’

Mangaluru, Jul 29: Milagres College, organized a heartfelt programme ‘Grateful hearts, abundant blessings’ on Monday, July 28 in the College Auditorium to express gratitude and bid farewell to the principal, Dr Michael Santhumayor. The event brought together dignitaries, members of the management, Governing Council, IQAC, Parent-Teacher Association, alumni, staff of Milagres Educational Institutions, and well-wishers.

The formal proceedings commenced with a welcome address by assistant Prof Glencia Fernandes of the Department of Management, who warmly greeted the esteemed guests on the dais, including Praveen Leo Lasrado, secretary of the Catholic Board of Education (CBE); Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions; Fr Udaya Fernandes, principal of Milagres Central School; Melvin Vas, principal of Milagres PU College; and Dr Diana Lobo, principal of Milagres Nursing College.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of a special edition magazine dedicated to the principal, capturing the legacy, values, and milestones of the institution. The magazine was released by the dignitaries, along with the magazine editor Manjusha.

Reflections of appreciation were shared by IQAC member Walter D’Souza and other heads of institutions, commending the principal’s visionary leadership and contributions.

In his address, Dr Michael Santhumayor expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support extended to him throughout his tenure since 2015, and acknowledged the collective efforts of faculty, staff, and stakeholders in shaping the institution’s growth.

The correspondent, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, felicitated the principal with words of appreciation, followed by a group felicitation by vice principal Glancia D’Souza, IQAC coordinator Chethana Kumari, and counselor Anju Thomas on behalf of the degree faculty.

A presentation showcasing the academic milestones and key institutional highlights added significance to the event.

The proceedings were smoothly compered by Chaithra, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Chethana Kumari, who expressed sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the event. The ceremony concluded on a gracious and memorable note, celebrating a legacy of leadership, service, and shared institutional pride.
