Mari Selvaraj teams up with Dhanush next, ahead of 'Bison Kaalamaadan' diwali release

Chennai, Jul 21: Director Mari Selvaraj, fresh off completing his much-awaited sports drama Bison Kaalamaadan, has officially confirmed that his next project will reunite him with Dhanush, the lead actor of his acclaimed film Karnan.

Speaking at a recent event, Selvaraj revealed, “We signed this film during Karnan, but it was delayed due to various reasons. It’s a massive project and the kind of film I’ve always wanted to make — a simple story told on a grand scale. I truly believe it will be a turning point in my career. Work has already begun.”

‘Bison Kaalamaadan’ Gears Up for Diwali

Before that, all eyes are on Bison Kaalamaadan, starring Dhruv Vikram as a kabaddi player. The film is set to hit theatres on October 17, aligning with Diwali celebrations.

Describing the film, Selvaraj poetically announced, “From a forest that is burning emerges the Kaalamaadan like a fire spark for Deepavali.” He added on social media: “A film of perseverance, determination, and survival! Bison is arriving with a blast this Diwali!”

Produced by Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios (Pa Ranjith’s banner), the film also features Anupama Parameswaran in the lead and boasts a powerful supporting cast including Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Kalaiyarasan, and Azhagam Perumal.

Inspired by real-life events, Bison Kaalamaadan promises to be a high-voltage sports drama packed with raw energy, emotion, and Mari Selvaraj’s signature social storytelling.

Dhruv Vikram’s Intense Transformation

Lead actor Dhruv Vikram underwent intense physical and emotional preparation for the role. Sharing a heartfelt post after wrapping the shoot, he wrote, “After years of preparation and shedding blood, sweat and tears — it’s finally a wrap on BISON. This journey changed my life. Thank you Mari sir for fortifying my soul.”

Technical Brilliance

The film features music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K, and editing by Sakthi Thiru. Producers include Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Pa Ranjith, and Aditi Anand.

With a fiery Diwali release lined up and a big-budget Dhanush collaboration in the works, Mari Selvaraj is set to continue his streak of socially resonant and emotionally charged cinema.
